It may sound obvious, but complete the most important tasks first, and, the least important tasks can wait until last. Realize that you might not have time for everything, all at once. Some of the ‘To Do List’ can wait until tomorrow.
- Challenge Yourself:
Learn something new; for example, a new skill, or, another Language. Adding to our skill-set builds confidence, which in turn, helps us to deal with stress more positively.
- Ensure you get some ‘Me-time:’
Whether it be exercise, relaxation or socializing, remember to take time away from work to enjoy these activities. Reset and recharge, your proverbial ‘batteries.’ Plan ahead and book an enjoyable event. Don’t cancel it closer to the time, commit to it, and, enjoy every moment!
- Try to be Positive:
Make a mental list of people, and things, that you are grateful for. Being positive brings calm and peace to our lives, which helps us to deal with stress.
- Avoid unhealthy habits:
It’s quick and easy to turn to Caffeine, Nicotine, and, Alcohol in times of stress. The relief that it brings is temporary, and, it only adds to problems. So, try to avoid reaching for Alcohol after work. Similarly smoking during your break, and, drinking too many Coffee’s throughout the day. Because they can be habit-forming, and, they will only maximize stress levels.
Remember
Remember to breathe, have a stretch, or take a walk around the office for a minute. These are immediate stress relievers. Perhaps some lunchtime exercise in the fresh air, walking around a park, or, going on a short bike ride, can help you feel more energized and less stressed.
